February 2012 - Byley

The 17th of February 2012 again saw 11 of the 12 teams playing this year convene at Byley Village Hall. Only Wistaston couldn't be with us due to a combination of work commitments and illness. Hopefully they will be back with us next month. The night's scores can be seen in the previous post.

Our venue was the home of Byley of course, where we were all warmly welcomed. The food was very nice too, there being a choice of Carrot & Coriander or Leek & Potato with crusty bread. Better yet, there was a choice of Apple or Gooseberry Pie with custard!

Custard is a magic word as far as I'm concerned, so top marks for Byley in that regard!

A special "thank you" to Celia Wilkinson and all the Byley team for their great efforts on the night, including finishing in good time to be home before Saturday!

Peter Watson's rounds of questions this time were as follows:-

Current Affairs
US States
Education, Education, Education
I do not believe it
The World of Mad Men & Women
Makers & Shakers

The questions were tough, but fair and there is clearly a need to scrutinise the fine print in the news stories to do well in the "Current Affairs" round!

Result-wise, Upton continued their excellent recent form with a comfortable with, with Byley and Croft finishing tied for second.
